One of the things this article doesn't cover is how resistant to "non-lethal" ammunition these gas masks are. That's something to keep in mind if you want to take this article seriously. Looking at the Mira Tactical Gas Mask CM-6M referenced in the article though, they do say that their mask does comply with EN 168 impact protection, which includes that kind of ammunition.
