It's not even talking about the software, it's talking about the legal licensing, which apparently Tesla has yet to even apply for in California.

Tesla is claiming to operate automated taxis in California, where they are legally not allowed to do so.

They are trying to rebrand “Robotaxi” as a trademarked word that doesn’t mean driverless vehicle to fool investors.

Your anecdote is completely irrelevant to this conversation.
