Right there with you. Their focus is on smoke and mirrors, not putting content first. If the first thing I have to do to get to the content is move your interface or big pictures out of the way, you're doing it wrong.
Your argument (and GPs) is valid but it doesn't really belong here, as this is a "design inspiration" gallery, as opposed to a "content inspiration" or "accessibility" blog or whatever you misunderstood this to be.
